Welcome to our five luxury self catering Dorset Holiday Cottages, situated on our family farm near Dorchester, Dorset. This part of Dorset is an area of outstanding natural beauty and abundant wildlife, with amazing views over Thomas Hardy’s Blackmore Vale in South West England. Bookham Court holiday cottages offer a tranquil haven for couples or families to visit both the Dorset countryside and Jurassic Coast. Our Dorset holiday cottages include woodburners, hot tubs, games room, EV chargers and are an Eco and dog friendly holiday destination.
Dorchester & Dorset Countryside
Bookham Court holiday cottages enjoy panoramic views over the Blackmore Vale in Dorset, made famous by Thomas Hardy with his celebrated novel ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’, an area viewed when walking the Hardy Trail footpath. Enjoy watching birds, deer and other wildlife from the comfort of your patio or get away from it all by roaming around our wildlife lake or walk along the Wessex Ridgeway with magnificent views towards Bullbarrow Hill.
Our Dorset holiday cottages are within easy access of both Dorchester and Sherborne, yet just 20 miles from the traditional English seaside resort of Weymouth. Our holiday cottage guests are never too far from South Dorset’s wonderful sites, with country houses, gardens and the Jurrasic coast and beaches all close. There are many excellent pubs and restaurants nearby, with the Gaggle of Geese pub and Old Chapel stores in Buckland Newton, a short distance from our Dorset holiday cottages.

Sleeps 8 + Pull Out Bed +Cot. Wonderful views from both the balcony and patio of this holiday cottage & disabled friendly.
Little Coombe
Sleeps 4 + Cot. Charming old Dorset barn, converted into a Dorset holiday cottage with an en-suite super king bedroom and private hot tub.
Crowthorne Cottage
Sleeps 8 + Cot. Spacious, open plan Dorset holiday cottage with enclosed garden and large lawn. Ideal for disabled guests.
Hideaway Cottage
Sleeps 4 + travel cot. An Eco, Low Carbon Dorset holiday cottage with panoramic views of Thomas Hardy’s Blackmore Vale, car charging point and hot tub.

Bookham lake maintenance
Over the winter we have pruned the willow on the island, opening up the lake at Bookham Court holiday cottages. We used a boat to haul the trimmed willow from the island. This picture is before major pruning.
